The black truffle is a highly prized product in Lotoise gastronomy. Especially in the winter months, special markets are organised where you can get to know the distinct flavour of this ‘black diamond’. Special guides are present who can tell you all the details and are happy to share recipes.
Two of France’s most famous and recognised markets take place in Lalbenque and Limogne-en-Quercy, where restaurants and locals come to do their shopping.
Lalbenque
Every Tuesday from 2pm during the months of December to mid-March.

Sarlat-La-Canéda
Every Saturday from 9am-12pm in the months of December to February.
Every Wednesday from 3pm-6pm h in the months of November to February.
